ANAS, domestic pork and sausage consumption in Italy

According to ISMEA-NielsenIQ CPS data, in the period 1 January - 18 June 2023, domestic consumption of fresh pork was down by 3.7% while in value it increased by 7.3% compared to the same period in 2022. With regard to cured meats, the quantities consumed were down by 4.1% against an increase in value of 4.8%. The same trends are noted for PDO deli meats, including Parma and San Daniele hams, which recorded
a reduction in quantity purchased and an increase in value. In the same period, there is an increase in the average consumer prices of fresh pork and PDO hams.
