With these words Cristian Maretti, President of Legacoop Agroalimentare, comments on the re-election of Ursula von der Leyen as President of the EU Commission. ‘We now trust that the Commissioners for Agriculture and Fisheries will have the necessary authority for the great challenges ahead of us.
On the agenda of von der Leyen, who said she wanted to give an important role to agriculture and cooperation, is the appointment of a commissioner for the Mediterranean who will focus on investments and partnerships, economic stability, and job creation. Energy, security, migration and other areas of mutual interest will be addressed.
