The Federation of the Italian Food Processing Industry is established
In this first phase, Assalzoo, Assocarni and Italmopa have joined, representing, respectively, livestock feed companies, companies in the beef, sheep and horse meat sector and companies in the Italian milling industry

The Federation of the Italian primary food processing industry was born in Confindustria. The objective is to bring together all the associations representing primary food processing companies and give voice to their growing expectations of protection and assistance on a political, economic and trade union level.
The need for a new Federation arises from the need to give greater representation to associated companies in the first food processing sector which respond to different market dynamics compared to those of the second transformation, in a constantly evolving national and international scenario.
At the time of incorporation, Dr. was appointed President. Silvio Ferrari - CEO Sivam S.p.A. – and Vice Presidents Dr. Serafino Cremonini - Vice President of Inalca S.p.A. - and Dr. Andrea Valente - CEO Molini Valente S.p.A.
In this first phase, Assalzoo, Assocarni and Italmopa joined the Federation which, respectively, represent companies producing livestock feed, companies in the beef, sheep and horse meat sector and companies in the Italian milling industry.
The Federation today represents 300 companies with a total turnover of over 25 billion euros and is open to all associations operating in the primary agri-food processing sector.
