The establishment of a supply chain round table for the poultry sector
‘The establishment of a supply chain round table for the poultry sector is a strategic step to build solutions and paths for the future of a sector of excellence in the Italian livestock industry such as the one we represent: we thank Undersecretary La Pietra for wanting to give impetus to the initiative and we appreciate the desire for ever greater coordination also with the Ministry of Health, which will be part of the round table. We will work hard to define priorities and contribute to improving the prospects of the companies and all the operators in the supply chain who work every day to ensure that quality products of high protein value and essential for a balanced diet accessible to all arrive on the tables of Italians'.
This was stated by Antonio Forlini, president of Unaitalia, an association representing the poultry sector, following the meeting held on 15 March at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, chaired by Undersecretary Patrizio La Pietra, during which the intention to formally set up the Poultry Supply Chain Table was announced.
