After the winter break, the MuT Museo della Tonnara di Stintino reopened to the public, re-proposing itself as a place to explore the past through the stories of the people who have passed through it, with their signs, objects and their contribution to building a community. And, at the same time, continuing to be a space in which to arrange together the fragments of meaning of the present and build a future oriented towards the values of relationship and sustainability.
"The museum guarantees an opening schedule, in terms of days and hours, that allows the widest possible enjoyment of the museum collections, and this year's cultural offer is marked," said Esmeralda Ughi, director of the Stintino museum, "by a rich programme of events, ranging from musical reviews to scientific popularisation, from conferences and workshops on environmental sustainability and gender issues to film screenings, from photographic exhibitions to the stages of important regional and national initiatives, such as Monumenti aperti, Insiemi, a national event promoted by the National Association of Small Museums, La Notte Internazionale dei Musei, and the Sardinia Archeo Festival. The programme of events will soon be published in agreement with the Stintino municipal administration'.
'The Tonnara Museum,' says Rita Vallebella, Stintino's mayor, 'has been characterised since its opening by a strong link with the local reality and a great capacity for hospitality.
