19, Dec 2023

Inalca, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the foundation, has decided to support the Food Bank with a donation that will allow the distribution of 300,000 kg of food equal to 600,000 meals* intended for people in difficulty throughout Italy welcomed by the affiliated charitable bodies that offer them the comfort of a meal or a food parcel. The initiative, in the context of corporate social responsibility, aims to be a sign of attention for the many Italian families who are going through difficult times due to the economic crisis (*An "equivalent meal" corresponds to a mix of 500 g of foods based on the LARN - Reference Intake Levels of Nutrients and Energy for the Italian population).

Giovanni Bruno, President of the Banco Alimentare Onlus Foundation declared: “We are happy and grateful to Inalca who has chosen to support Banco Alimentare on the occasion of such an important anniversary as the 60 years of the company's foundation. Especially at a time marked by a profound economic and social crisis, it is essential to be able to count on faithful partners with whom we can share our daily commitment. Bringing help, through the 7,600 charitable organizations affiliated with us, to over 1,750,000 people is only possible by teaming up with those who really get involved with us and remain close to us".

Paolo Boni, Inalca CEO, commented: “60 years is a very important milestone for a company, in particular for a group that has achieved a position of international leadership from scratch. Considering the difficult economic situation, we decided that the best way to celebrate was a social initiative, with concrete positive impacts for people and families in difficulty. It was so natural to think about the Food Bank network, a reality rooted throughout the national territory, with which we have been collaborating for some time, and which has allowed us to best organize a true celebration of solidarity, because at Christmas solidarity deserves a special meal ”.
On 1 July 1963 Luigi Cremonini founded INALCA and began working in the beef sector, giving life to the modern meat industry in Italy. At the end of the 1970s it launched a diversification policy, entering first in the cured meats sector and subsequently in two complementary markets: in 1979 with the acquisition of MARR it entered the sector of distribution of food products to foodservice and in 1982 it entered in the concession and commercial catering sector (Chef Express and Roadhouse).

In 60 years of activity, the Cremonini Group has distinguished itself at a national and international level as a point of reference in the food world. Today it has more than 19,500 employees, of which 16,400 in Italy and, with a turnover that this year will reach around 5.5 billion euros, it represents one of the main companies in the agri-food sector in Italy.
