Mortadella Bologna PGI recorded growth in sales (+2.2%) and exports (+8.7%) with strong increases in France (+14.6%) and Spain (+7.6%). Growth in sliced products also continued +7.0%.
In the first six months of 2024, 19 million kg of Mortadella Bologna PGI were produced and almost 16 million kg were sold. Compared to the same period in 2023, production grew by 0.6% and sales by 2.2% (data provided by the control body IFCQ certifications). Sliced ham in trays confirmed its growth trend, with an increase of 7.0%, demonstrating the end consumer's appreciation of the convenience of the format.
