Osservatorio Nazionale Pesca: a Termoli, Un giorno da pescatore

Event organised by the National Fisheries Observatory, a bilateral body formed by Federpesca, Fai-Cisl , Flai-Cgil and Uila Pesca

03, May 2024

A day as a fisherman' initiative promoted by the National Fishing Observatory together with the San Basso Producers' Organisation, the Pesce Nostrum refreshment point and Termoli's Schweitzer primary school took place today, 3 May, in the port of Termoli. A day dedicated to 50 fourth-grade children who visited a trawler to learn about spaces, fishing techniques, net rigging and the rules of the sea together with captain Basso Cannarsa. The tour continued at the Pesce Nostrum refreshment point, in the presence of the Termoli Harbour Master's Office, where together with chef Giorgio and Giuseppe Nardone the children learned about the fish of the Adriatic and how to transform a codfish into nuggets with a special flavour. "A day dedicated to introducing children to the wonderful world of the sea and fishing. A little-known and sometimes despised world that instead plays a fundamental role for entire coastal communities and for guaranteeing the best fish on Italian tables." - Said Francesca Biondo, President of the National Fisheries Observatory - "this is why, in addition to our main role of training operators in the sector, we are also committed to passing on to children a love for the sea and knowledge of a traditional sector such as fishing."
