Parmigiano Reggiano producers reopen their doors to the public with guided tours of cheese factories, stables and maturing warehouses, open shops, shows, cheese wheel openings, workshops, events for children, tastings and lunches with local products
After the great success of the two 2023 editions, which registered 24,500 participants, an increase of 19.5% over 2022, the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese dairies are opening their doors to the public once again: Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April sees the return of the spring edition of Caseifici Aperti. Promoted by the Consortium, the event will give everyone - from foodies and enthusiasts to the curious, young and old - the chance to participate and immerse themselves in the production of the PDO. The initiative involves 52 dairies in all the provinces of the Parmigiano Reggiano zone of origin, namely Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna to the left of the Reno river, and Mantua to the right of the Po.
