Breeders of Good Practices, a project of the Lombardy Beef Producers Consortium

“Breeders of good practices”. It is not just a slogan, but a new path of economic, social and environmental sustainability for the Lombardy Beef Producers Consortium and the over 400 member farmers.
The project will be presented on April 16th at 6.30 pm at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Sirmione (piazzale Europa 5) and aims to mark the beginning of a new production model, which favors the circular economy, the reduction of emissions into the atmosphere, the use of raw materials coming as much as possible from the territory, the use of renewable energy, to achieve product traceability capable of guaranteeing consumers, thanks to a system that accompanies the entire production process, from the stable to the table.
“The idea was born from the invitation of the Lombardy councilor for agriculture, Alessandro Beduschi, who at the end of 2023 emphasized the self-sufficiency rate of beef in Italy, less than 45% - explains the president of the Lombardy Producers Consortium Beef, Primo Cortelazzi -. A worrying fact for the entire supply chain, such as to put the sector at great risk. The danger is that of having to depend more and more on foreign countries, putting food sovereignty at risk in a strategic production segment such as meat farming". Hence, in fact, the idea of developing a program to support all the players in the supply chain, guarantee consumers and ensure profitability and competitiveness at the links in the supply chain.


After the annual budget meeting of the consortium (starting at 5.30pm), which will also see the renewal of the corporate offices, there will be space for the presentation of the project with speeches by Primo Cortelazzi, president of the Lombardy Beef Producers Consortium; Marika De Vincenzi, Meat analyst at Clal; professor Giuliana d'Imporzano of the University of Milan; Chiara Palamà, business design marketer from Gowisi.
After the reports, the round table will begin, in which Primo Cortelazzi will participate; Alessandro Beduschi, Councilor for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty of the Lombardy Region; Luigino Poli, hotelier of the business network “Hotels in Milan that is convenient”; Eleonora Masseretti, president of Terranostra Lombardia; Maurizio Angelo Arosio, president of Federcarni; Gianluca Pinotti of Ats Lombardia; Ettore Prandini, president of Coldiretti.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Francesco Lollobrigida, will speak with a video.
