Falesia, the new white wine of Bruna Baroncini

News from Tenuta Querciarossa

31, Jul 2022

A restart in the name of taste and hospitality, after the difficult two years of the pandemic, and with some enological innovations, such as the new Falesia, a sparkling white wine made from Vermentino grapes kept on yeasts. It is the last label of Tenuta Querciarossa, a company of Magliano in Toscana (Grosseto) of the Tenute Toscane group, of the producer Bruna Baroncini; a long-time professional, started in the family estates (historic producers since 1489) in the Vernaccia di San Gimignano Docg area, at Podere Torre Terza.

The new wine produced in Maremma has a straw yellow color and a veiled finish from the residues of second fermentation yeasts, the nose is elegant and citrusy, fresh and savory on the palate. The presentation of the new label - and of the latest vintages of the "reds" of the Baroncini family in the Montalcino area - took place in Poggio Il Castellare, another winery of the group on the hills of Torrenieri (Siena), in the presence of a guest and an exceptional menu, chef Simone Rugiati. Among the dishes and combinations there were, for example, a fresh "spelled salad with Mediterranean aromas" accompanied by Vermentino from Fattoria Querciarossa, and the "cimalino wrapped in aromatic herbs with parsley potato cream", served with Brunello Tenuta Poggio Il Castellare Reserve.
