The city of Crema is hosting the first edition of the Noble Cremasque Salami Festival from April 29 to May 1, organized by the City of Crema in collaboration with The Promoter Committee.
This festival stems from the desire to offer a unique opportunity for Crema residents and tourists to discover the salame nobile cremasco, one of the most prized typical products of Lombard gastronomy. It is so called, “noble”, because it is made, at least 70%, from the best parts of the pig: leg, loin, shoulder, tenderloin. Seasoned with salt, garlic and a mixture of precious spices, it is aged from four to six months.
During the event, people will be able to taste salumi from local companies and appreciate their artisanal processing.
Over the three dedicated days, Salame Nobile Cremasco will be tasted, illustrated in pairings with Italian wines and Champagne (with sommeliers Luca Bandirali and Federico Bovarini), offered to children as a snack (by Annalisa Andreini), tasted picnic-style, set to music, and paired with beer.
Many events, all free of charge. There will also be, on May 1, the Salami Race, with jury awards in the afternoon. A challenge between local producers with a cognitive, rather than competitive, purpose.
