On 26 and 27 September 2026, South Tyrol’s culinary excellence will take centre stage with tastings, local produce markets and local traditions
The annual celebration of high-altitude culinary tradition is back: on 26 and 27 September 2026, the summit of Plan de Corones will host the South Tyrolean Speck Festival – Speckfest. This year’s edition promises to be of particular institutional and historical significance, as it will provide the backdrop for celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Speck Alto Adige being awarded PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status.
The event, organised by the South Tyrolean Speck Protection Consortium in collaboration with the Plan de Corones Dolomite Region, will take place at an altitude of 2,275 metres: a unique scenic setting for one of the most popular tourist destinations in every season. The event area will be easily accessible to the public via the ski lifts operating from Brunico/Riscone and Valdaora/Casola.
