From photos of founder Egidio Galbani to Carosello commercials in the 1950s, from the original packaging of the first Robiola Galbani cheese marketed since 1882 to Vincenzo Aragozzini's precious shots of work in industrial plants in the first half of the 20th century. Galbani is 140 years old and is celebrating the anniversary with an exhibition dedicated to its history set up at the Corteolona (PV) factory, one of the five from which the products destined for the tables of 140 countries come out
For the first time, images and documents from the Galbani Historical Archive celebrate the birth and evolution of one of the longest-lived companies on the Italian economic scene. A path of success made possible thanks to the people who, since the end of the 19th century, have put their intelligence, skills and energy at the service of the company.
The first of the four sections in which the exhibition “Galbani, together for 140 years” — which in total exhibits 110 pieces from the archive — is dedicated to the people, while the other three host photos and materials dedicated to the factories, products and communication that have allowed the company and its brand to evolve and renew itself without ever betraying its origins.
«Being able to celebrate this important anniversary is a source of great pride for the whole company and for the people who work there every day with passion» said Mauro Frantellizzi, Galbani Formaggi marketing director. «We have chosen to do so through an exhibition that allows us to enhance the immense heritage of images and documents kept in our Historical Archive. We believe this is the best way to celebrate one of the best-known and longest-lived brands on the Italian food scene, loved by so many consumers over the centuries and therefore everyone's heritage».
The exhibition will be open on some days dedicated to a selected public in the area, made up of schools, such as the Cardano technical institute in Pavia, and associations, such as the Rotary 2050 district.
The Galbani Historical Archive, now secured in the “Vittorio Sereni” library of the Melzo (MI) Municipality, is a faithful mirror of Italian society and culture from the end of the 19th century to the present day, thanks to an important quantity of material of various types: over 2,000 photographs; more than 1. 000 negatives and slides; more than 1,000 archival units including administrative documents, advertising inserts, posters, labels, and product-related material; more than 200 units of printed material; about 200 films and commercials; and about 100 objects, paintings, and billboards.
