For the first time, Mortadella Bologna PGI is the official partner of a major Pizza Festival, to be held from 21 to 22 March in Taranto, with an articulated programme of events and activities aimed at celebrating the union between the main dish of Italian tables and the pink Queen of cured meats
The Italian Consortium for the Protection of Mortadella Bologna will be a partner of the Ego Pizza Festival, a reference event for the pizza sector in Italy, conceived by journalist and TV presenter Monica Caradonna, which will take place in Taranto on 21 and 22 March in the evocative location of Villa Peripato.
«The decision to take part in the Ego Pizza Festival — explains Guido Veroni, President of the Consortium — is an opportunity to strengthen the PGI brand awareness, particularly in Southern Italy, where consumption of mortadella is high. Moreover, pizza is a symbol of Made in Italy in the world and we believe that the combination with Mortadella Bologna is perfect to enhance the qualities of both products».
It should be noted, in fact, that pizza with mortadella is on the menu of an ever-increasing number of restaurants, confirming that the combination is increasingly meeting consumer tastes. The only recommendation is to remember that mortadella on pizza should be placed as the last ingredient, to keep its softness intact and enjoy its unique flavour.
