Salumificio Mec Palmieri’s Mortadella Favola Gran Riserva is reconfirmed Best Mortadella in Italy by winning the Cinque Spilli, the highest award assigned by the Guida Salumi d'Italia 2023. A further milestone for the company from San Prospero (Mo), which has been awarded in every edition of the review since 2017. The awards ceremony for the best Italian charcuterie producers took place on 14 November in the splendid setting of the Teatro Verdi in Busseto (PR).
Mortadella Favola Gran Riserva is a unique product of excellence, distinguished by its unmistakable firebrand stamp and characteristic handmade binding with tricolour cord. Stuffed into the thin, natural rind and slowly cooked in stone ovens, the mortadella is made of only the finest Italian meats and is rich in noble cuts from 100% Italian pigs. Additional ingredients that contribute to the uniqueness and enhance the special flavour of Mortadella Favola Gran Riserva include sweet Cervia wholemeal salt, natural flavourings and acacia honey.
