Coppa Piacentina DOP, Salame Piacentino DOP and Pancetta Piacentina DOP are returning to restaurants in Germany. New international promotion initiatives involving the German press and restaurateurs start from 6 to 12 March

Germany, with 36,459 tonnes for a value of 368.3 million euros, is the nation that imports more Italian cold cuts than any other, which is why the Consortium for the Protection of PDO Piacenza Cold Cuts is returning to this country to promote the three excellent Piacenza cold cuts with Protected Designation of Origin.

The project, co-funded by the Ministry of Economic Development, envisages the involvement of forty restaurants located in four cities Cologne, Munich, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt in which, from 6 to 12 March, the Piacenza antipasto composed of Coppa Piacentina DOP, Salame Piacentino DOP and Pancetta Piacentina DOP will be offered for tasting. 

A true “restaurant week” where Piacenza’s cured meats can be enjoyed by many guests, becoming true ambassadors of the gastronomic excellence of the city of Piacenza.

«We want to continue with this new edition of Salumi Piacentini PDO On Tour, the promotional activity in Germany» says the President of the Consortium Antonio Grossetti presenting the new international appointment scheduled. «This is an important opportunity to make the value of our products known also outside national borders thanks to the collaboration provided by German restaurateurs, who will be provided with valid information support on the quality and characteristics of our products. An important objective of the project is precisely to make the public aware of the quality system of certified European products, thereby promoting their recognition and consumption».
