Designed by Gianluca Cannizzo - My Poster Sucks, the new graphic identity of Turin's chocolate festival will gradually dress the city from today until the end of the event
If it is true for chocolate, it is equally true for CioccolaTò! And that is why the Turin chocolate festival, which will return from 27 February to 2 March in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the very place where the first edition was held more than 20 years ago, is changing clothes this year. And it does so under the inspired pencil of the Turinese graphic designer Gianluca Cannizzo, a.k.a. My Poster Sucks, former creative director of the magazine L'Integrale and one of the founders of Laboratorio Zanzara, specialised in visual communication in the food and wine sector.
A little over a month before the start of CioccolaTò, therefore, Turin is dressed in orange and the shapes imagined by Cannizzo, who comments: ‘I have created a character who carries a Mole of chocolate - the city - on a journey of taste, excellence in all senses: walking, tasting, knowing. A route that combines flavours and culture, inviting you to live taste as a complete experience. The idea is to have an impactful, easy-to-read, fresh and POP poster'. It is precisely the capital of Piedmont, expressed in highly recognisable symbols such as the Toret, Emanuele Filiberto's Caval ëd Bronz, the Porte Palatine and, of course, the ever-present Mole Antonelliana, that is the protagonist of this new graphic identity, once again sealing the very deep bond that unites the city to chocolate and, for more than twenty years now, to CioccolaTò as well.
