In Spilamberto (MO), a taste of biodiversity at the event dedicated to artisanal wines, now in its tenth year
From 9 to 11 May, Spilamberto, a town in the province of Modena, hosted Vignaioli Contrari, the event dedicated to artisanal wines, which celebrated its tenth edition. Over 70 producers, more than 400 labels and a clear philosophy: to defend the local area, biodiversity and native grape varieties against any standardisation of taste.
The event was hosted at Rocca Rangoni, the historic residence that belonged to the Rangoni marquises for over six centuries.
This edition was enriched with flavours thanks to the Slow Food Park, which brought Piazzale Rangoni to life with over 20 artisan producers and Slow Food convivia from various Italian regions, bringing to the square natural cured meats, alpine cheeses, breads made from ancient grains, preserves, beers and other products that embody an agriculture respectful of the land and its people.
Two worlds coming together – that of wine and that of artisan cured meats – which share the same commitment: the promotion of small-scale independent production and environmentally friendly farming methods.
