Yesterday in Brussels at the headquarters of Copa-Cogeca, the Committee of European Agricultural Organisations that brings together 60 organisations from member countries and 36 partner organisations from other countries, the president of API Associazione Piscicoltori Italiani, Pier Antonio Salvador, was elected to the presidency of the Working Party on Fish.
"I consider the work within Copa-Cogeca fundamental for the entire European aquaculture sector," said the president of the association that brings together Confagricoltura's fish farmers. "Over the next two years, the objectives of the Working Party's bureau will be to strengthen collaboration between fishing and aquaculture, reduce the impact of bureaucracy for fish farmers and fishermen, provide better information on fish consumed in HoReCa channels, and increase the visibility and knowledge of sustainable aquaculture and fishing.
Copa-Cogeca's Working Party on Fish (FISH) is one of the working groups composed of representatives and experts from the member organisations in which market issues and perspectives affecting the different agricultural and food sectors are addressed, and in which the joint positions of Copa and Cogeca are discussed and elaborated.
