Invasive species in natural environments cause significant damage to the environment and the entire ecosystem, also interfering with human production activities. The damage caused by the blue crab to aquaculture is extensive and many companies are going through a deep crisis.
The institutions have the important task of supporting the sector in such a delicate moment. But not only. «AquaFarm represents an opportunity to reiterate the urgency of anticipating the effects of changes, a game in which research plays a crucial role» states Luigino Pelà, new President of the Mediterranean Aquaculturists Association, partner of AquaFarm also on the occasion of the next edition of the demonstration.
We will talk about blue crab and how to deal with the effects of this new crisis during the conference Blue crab and invasive species: damage from predation and the state of research, scheduled for February 15th from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
