On stage the Piccola Orchestra dei Popoli and testimonies from market operators
On 29 June at the Milan Food Market in via Lombroso 54, in the middle of the market activity, a free event open to the city was staged: 'Stories of integration with the instruments of the sea', which saw the performance of the Piccola Orchestra dei Popoli, an artistic workshop bringing together musicians of different nationalities. In concert, musicians Pietro Boscacci, Issei Watanabe, Persic Iancu and Arup Kanti Das performed on violin, cello, guitar and cajon: instruments made by inmates of the Opera and Secondigliano prisons from the wood of migrants' boats. Alternating with the musical pieces was the telling of stories belonging to the market operators who in this special setting shared their first-hand experiences of migration and integration.
