Italian Ministry of Agriculture: funds for agriculture and fishery sector

Support for farms and fisheries, with measures to reduce the costs of agricultural diesel, transport and the feeding of greenhouses and buildings

18, Sep 2022

The Council of Ministers has approved the Dl Aiuti ter, which contains important measures, desired by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies Stefano Patuanelli, to mitigate the economic effects of the exceptional increase in the price of diesel and petrol.

To combat high energy prices, the government has extended and strengthened the measures already adopted in recent months to support all businesses, with a tax credit with rates of 40 per cent for energy-intensive businesses and 30 per cent for those with over 4.5 kw.

Specifically for agricultural and fishing enterprises and agro-mechanical enterprises, the decree provides for the extension to the fourth quarter of 2022 of the tax credit for the purchase of fuel to partially offset the higher charges actually incurred for the purchase of diesel and petrol for the traction of the vehicles used, equal to 20 per cent of the expenditure incurred for the purchase of fuel made in the fourth calendar quarter of 2022, substantiated by the relevant purchase invoices, net of value added tax.

The tax credit also covers agro-mechanical enterprises and the use of fuel for heating greenhouses and production buildings used for animal husbandry, so as to meet the demands of the sectors hardest hit by rising energy costs. In addition, the maximum amount of Ismea-guaranteed financing, with 100 per cent coverage, is raised from 35,000 euro to 62,000 euro, in relation to the high energy costs.
