Call for aid under Feampa, the European Maritime Affairs Fund, reopens until 28 February
Liguria allocates a series of funds to support fishing and aquaculture. After the recent allocations to the sector included in those destined for agriculture (see article Liguria Region, 20 million in the budget for agriculture of the future) now it is the turn of 160 thousand Euros destined to support the regional associations of the fishing and aquaculture who will provide technical assistance to enterprises.
"The funds will concern various projects, to be presented by 28 February 2023 -explains the regional councilor for agriculture Alessandro Piana-. The projects include seminars and studies to encourage the development of businesses, reconnaissance for the modernization of ports, for the transformation, marketing and diversification of the sector as well as the implementation of general assistance to the seafarers.The surveys are functional to the new Feampa program, the European Fund for European Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture".
In recent days, the Liguria Region has allocated over 770,000 euros for "initiatives intended to finance productive investments in the aquaculture sector". The resolution, Piana explains, "reopens the tender for the disbursement of aid provided for by the Feamp, the European Fund for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, 2014-2020 until February 28, thanks to last year's savings and changes to the plan finance approved at national level".
"These are important contributions -adds Piana- to favor modernisations, replacement of instruments and machinery to improve both the competitiveness of aquaculture companies and environmental efficiency. Investments which, otherwise, in this period of crisis, would hardly be carried forward".
