Inauguration of the Marine Information Office
The Fishing Infopoint was inaugurated today in Santa Margherita Ligure. This is a real information office dedicated to the marine environment in the pre-port area, close to the sea promenade: it is the latest project of Flag Gac Levante Ligure realised thanks to the Feamp (European Maritime and Fisheries Fund) Measure 4.63 Project Code Liguria Region funds, which have an endowment of about 30 thousand Euro.
The bodies and associations that made the initiative possible were: the Municipality of Santa Margherita Ligure; the Progetto Santa Margherita company; the Chamber of Commerce of Genoa; the Portofino Protected Marine Area; Coldiretti Impresa Pesca Liguria; Confcoperativa and FedAgriPesca Liguria; Federcopesca Liguria; Associazione Pescatori Dilettanti; Consorzio Motopescherecci; La Calata; Tlm Nautica. "The objective," explains Regional Councillor for Agriculture Alessandro Piana, "is to open the doors of a physical location, in a strategic position, equipped with IT tools to promote various types of activities: aggregation for professional fishermen, training, demonstrations, and tasting.
The Municipality of Santa Margherita," he added, "has also made available the 16th century Castle and the Villa Durazzo real estate compendium to create a network in the area: a concrete response to the needs of the fishing sector trade associations, of those who love the sea and its peculiarities, which aims to promote the entire territory at 360 degrees according to its different historical, cultural, artistic, landscape and food and wine profiles.
