Carlo Siciliani, UNICEB President, declared himself extremely satisfied with the result of the European Parliament plenary vote on the revision of the IED Directive, which confirmed what the Agriculture Commission had indicated.

"We have succeeded in blocking an ideological approach that for some time has been trying to equate livestock farms with industrial activities, even going against the same statistical data that, as far as Italy is concerned, indicate only 4% of emissions attributable to the livestock sector (meat, milk and eggs).
We must emphasise,' Siciliani concludes, 'the work carried out with particular commitment by Paolo de Castro in the Agriculture Commission of the European Parliament, which has allowed this great result to be achieved.
