‘Measures are needed for reduction and not just containment. We need to gear up for a full restart'
‘It is good to have started with the work of the new Blue Crab Commissioner Enrico Caterino and it is good to have done it on schedule. But many of the actions planned are those that have been implemented so far and have served to contain the growth of the crab. And not its reduction. So we need to gear up with new resources to allow a full restart’. These are the words of Cristian Maretti, president of Legacoop Agroalimentare, at the end of the meeting held this morning at the Ministry of Agriculture to present the measures to deal with the blue crab emergency that continues to do heavy damage. ‘I am extremely pleased with the climate of institutional collaboration that exists on this issue and which allows for optimising results. The ministry has done a good job in keeping everyone connected and an invitation to politics to be operational quickly,' the president continued.
