In 2023 drop by 3.7 per cent year-on-year: biggest drop in domestic pig production down by 10 per cent
The United Kingdom had to record its first drop in meat production in ten years in 2023. Revealing the collapse is the report 'Agriculture in the United Kingdom 2023', which was published in June but only got its final update in recent days. According to the new UK government research, meat production fell by 3.7 per cent year-on-year, with the biggest drop being in domestic pig production, whose numbers fell by 10 per cent to 4.7 million head.
