The Sardinian brown cattle breed: high meat quality and breeding sustainability

The Sardo Bruna cattle breed, present on the island with around 57,000 head, has unexpressed potential as high-quality meat. The Valorisardo project, initiated thanks to a partnership of companies, has been working to understand how to turn breeding back into a strong point. A project initiated and developed with the fundamental contribution of the Department of Agriculture of the University of Sassari. A study whose results will be presented on Friday 11 October, starting at 9 a.m. in the Aula Magna Barbieri, in Sassari, during a conference entitled ‘Valorisation of Sardinian Brown Beef through Environmental Sustainability and Drug Reduction’.
