Amendment 16.0.5 to the Omnibus Decree finally approved yesterday unfortunately displeases everyone. It displeases the breeders, the only beneficiaries of the measure, because 10 million is insufficient and can only be received in the case of health restrictions. It displeases the other links in the chain because despite the direct and indirect damages suffered, they have been cut out of the relief.
For this reason, UNICEB sent a petition to the Ministry of Agriculture requesting that measures be envisaged to also cover the depreciation of the commercial value of live animals and, at the same time, that funds be identified within the financial manoeuvre to also compensate the other links in the chain. Last but not least, the need was reiterated for a reduction in the VAT rate from 10% to 4% for the pig-farming sector as part of the forthcoming work to define the manoeuvre.
