In 2023, Speck Alto Adige PGI also confirmed itself as one of the most exported cured meats in Italy (with an export rate of 32.5%). In addition, a slight increase in sales of Speck Alto Adige PGI of 1.5% in 2023 compared to 2022.  For Paul Recla, who was re-elected as president of the Consortium for his third year in office: «The year 2023 was characterised by global political tension and related uncertainties, which had an impact on trade relations, raw material prices and supply chains. In addition, climate change is presenting the world with major challenges that we are addressing through a sustainability strategy with which we intend to confirm our commitment to this issue». 

In 2023, 2,495,561 baffles were marked with the Speck Alto Adige PGI quality seal, representing 39.7% of the total production of the Consortium members, a decrease of 13.3% compared to 2022.  With an export rate of 32.5%, it is one of the most exported cured meats in Italy. The main export market for Speck Alto Adige PGI remains Germany with 24.2%. Other export markets include the USA (3.8%), France (2%), Switzerland (0.8%), Austria (0.5%), Belgium (0.35%) and the UK (0.35%). In Italy, 65% of production is distributed through supermarkets.
