The pink queen of Italian cured meats, exported to 74 countries worldwide, is celebrated in Rome, at the Palazzo Esposizioni, on 24 October with the 12th edition of Mortadella Day
Created to celebrate the anniversary of 24 October 1661, when Cardinal Farnese issued the Proclamation laying down the rules for the production of Mortadella Bologna (a true forerunner of today's PGI Production Regulations), Mortadella Day, now in its 12th edition, becomes international. Mortadella Bologna PGI is, in fact, one of the gastronomic symbols of Made in Italy around the world. It is exported to 74 countries: from Brazil to Hong Kong, from Finland to South Africa, from Canada to New Zealand.
The initiatives planned for the Mortadella Day celebrations next 24 October will take place simultaneously in Rome, at the Palazzo Esposizioni, and in Bologna, at the Grand Tour Italia theme park.
