Today at the Palazzo Esposizioni in Rome, the Italian Consortium for the Protection of Mortadella Bologna PGI celebrated the 12th edition of Mortadella Day. Created to celebrate the anniversary of 24 October 1661, when Cardinal Farnese issued the Proclamation laying down the rules for the production of Mortadella Bologna (a true forerunner of today's PGI Production Regulations), this year Mortadella Day spoke an international language, starting from the fact that Mortadella Bologna PGI is also popular abroad, to the point that it is exported to 74 countries around the world. From Brazil to Hong Kong, from Finland to South Africa, from Canada to New Zealand.
