From 25 to 27 April 2025 in Cagli (PU), to safeguard native breeds, wild herds, highlands and communities
Distinti Salumi, the event of the City of Cagli (PU), organised in collaboration with Slow Food Italy and Slow Food Marche, which celebrates the best Italian artisan pork products, returns to Cagli from 25 to 27 April 2025. A three-day event of Taste Workshops, meetings, conferences and a market to bring the greatest interpreters of national norcino craftsmanship, the custodians of local Italian breeds and extensive and small-scale breeders to the Marche town. To present it, on Thursday 28 November, the City of Cagli, Slow Food Italy and Slow Food Marche organised the Anteprima Distinti Salumi Preserving biodiversity for a future of quality: a conference with tasting attended by pork butchers and breeders of native Italian breeds.
The presentation was also an opportunity to launch the appeal Let’s save Italy’s native pig breeds, extensive and small-scale farming. A heritage of our country is in danger of disappearing forever that Slow Food Italy is addressing to the Extraordinary Commissioner for African Swine Fever (ASF), Giovanni Filippini, and to the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida.
