The EU is not the only target of China's Ministry of Commerce. While Mofcom imposed tariffs of up to 62% on pork in September 2025 and up to 47% on dairy products in December 2025 on the European Union, the ministry headed by Wang Wentao has now set its sights on the United States, Australia and Brazil, imposing additional duties of 55% on certain beef imports.
